SYBF Week 4 Wrap Up: Affirmations
I might be an innovator and risk-taker by nature, but my reptilian brain speaks just as loud as everyone else’s. I am frequently halted, even paralyzed, but the naturally occurring fear of the unknown.
This is where this familiar phrase from our challenge comes in:
This phrase, “The point is not perfection. The point is to try.” helps me remember that I am the only person expecting perfection from me. Everyone else expects lots of things, but none of them are perfect.
And regardless of what anyone else wants or expects of me, I can commit to trying, exploring what else I can learn from, and in turn, offer to the world. Without trying new things, we cannot know our true potential of who and how we can be in this world now and in the future.
Throughout our exploration this week, I have found a new depth to my affirmations, especially ones I didn’t know I needed. Recently, I have been playing with “I am worthy of ______.” One of the most common human quirks is that we think everyone else is worthy except for ourselves.
As you try out some affirmations, the simplest is “I am worthy of…” and fill in the blank with one of the words below.
Love
Care
Recognition
Relationships
Attention
Rest
Time
Growth
Gratitude
Growth
Living my dreams
Financial freedom/flexibility
Being my full self
Being served
Exploration of myself and the world
My dreams
My goals
My desires
Sharing the load
You are worthy. You are worthy of so much more than you let in. You are not less worthy or more flawed than anyone else. Here, at the end of week 4, the energy you’ve put into yourself is likely helping you see some of your worth, your value, and your ability to grow.
Please take a moment and post on this week’s blog, especially if you haven’t done that yet. I hear from many of you individually, which I am deeply grateful for, as I learn so much about what is valuable to you, and it gives me "the good feels. But even more importantly, I have heard from some of you that hearing other’s reflections helps them grow and have the good feels of knowing they’re not alone in trying new things. Do it for me, you, and the others in the universe that you may help grow, even if you may never meet them IRL.
Monday marks the start of week 5. WOW! Already!?!? In week 5, we’ll explore the brain-body connection and how your body helps you build your brain. They are part of the same system, after all!
And especially for those moms out there, on this Mother’s Day weekend, YOU ARE WORTHY!
